Hike to the source of the Inn
A steep hike from Maloja to Lake Lunghin, the source of the Inn, and on to the triple watershed at the Lunghin Pass.
Maloja
The Inn rises above Maloja. From Lake Lunghin the water flows via the Inn and the Danube into the Black Sea. A steep hike leads from the village of Maloja to the lake. If you still have energy left at the mountain lake, carry on up to the Lunghin Pass, a geographical highlight: it is home to the only triple watershed in Europe. From there, water flows either via the Inn and Danube into the Black Sea, via the Mera, Adda and Po into the Mediterranean, or via the Julia, Albula and Rhine into the North Sea.
The climb needs some stamina, but you are rewarded with a beautiful view of the blue mountain lake. Suitable for children from about 8 years. The path is steep but not particularly exposed. There is good parking in the public car parks in Maloja.
